Not yet am I ready—for the world to end. Could our leaders please be more steady? And messages of peace instead of war send? Tanks roll across the living room screen-- Echoes of my mother’s nightmares from 1943. Not yet am I ready. Reports of long-range missiles and nuclear bombs Top the dire evening news. Will this madness ever stop? Or will WWIII be our doom? Not yet are we ready. Not yet are we ready to self-annihilate and call it quits. We still have art, music, and love to make-- Not yet are we ready!
